President and Chairperson - Samarth-Jyoti

Suman Minda

It was the interaction with the people living in villages, surrounding big cities that first motivated us to roll-up our sleeves and get to the basic ground work that is quintessential for rural life- Education and Skill Development. It is on these two pillars of growth that we have laid the foundation of Samarth-Jyoti. The inherent desire to help people earn a livelihood be self-reliant and happy in their lives is the guiding light for the initiative. Women and young children often lag behind in the journey of progress. Keeping this in mind, we started remedial classes and skill development centers in seven places across India. Today, these first few steps that we took are helping people walk on a path of possibilities that can lead them to a better future.

Earlier, when I used to look at the struggle of women, their everyday challenges and lack of education; I used to feel a strong urge to do something for them. Samarth-Jyoti has given them a platform to imbibe new skills, improve their current knowledge to take charge of their lives. It makes me feel content and glad to see so many kids and women, young mothers and even older generation, benefitting from this initiative.

We provide quality education to the underprivileged section of the society who have the spark but lack the means to fuel the fire of their dreams. Visiting the centers, I feel a surge of warmth and humility, realizing how our efforts are headed in the right direction, changing one life at a time.
